When and how do you know if you should do GAPS and do you even need to do it at all?
Today I am joined by Elyse Comerford, an Integrative Nutritionist and Certified GAPS (Gut & Psychology/Physiology Syndrome) Practitioner, Holistic Health Coach, Exercise Scientist, Keynote Speaker, Mentor, and most importantly, Mum to Dylan!
Elyse says: my primary focus for the past few years has been in private practice, helping hundreds of families overcome a whole host of health issues through the implementation of nourishing and healing diary principles, reducing toxic stress, and the GAPS protocol. This has become my specialty, and has led me to work with families all over the world. It has been a culmination of my education and experience in Nutrition, but most importantly my experience in my own healing journey. It is this experience that has driven my passion to empower as many people as possible with the key to their own health. My approach is based on taking the normal “guilt, blame, shame and deprivation” approach and completely turning it on it’s head, focussing instead on healing, nourishing, and listening to the body.

In this episode Barbara explains Human Design as the key to knowing ourselves and to helping women recognise they are not broken, far from it, they are freaking amazing. Human Design helps us to Recognise that our frustrations and pain often come from trying to be like another, instead of loving our uniqueness (as per Human Design).
Barbara will demystify Human Design – a jargon-heavy complex system into a fun and easy to integrate tool to help you activate your soul further. We talk through the different energy types and personas and discover how much you can learn about yourself just based on the time and place you were born.
Barbara is an Irish girl who has made Australia her forever home. She is super passionate about helping women recognise they are not broken and in fact they are amazing. She has an infectious laugh and she loves bringing joy to all of her sessions. She had her own Spiritual Awakening after the birth of her two daughters and was soon catapulted onto a TV show doing live ‘psychic readings’ and whilst this was fun, there was something missing. This seeking called her deeper into the path of the Mystic and Intuitive and into the labyrinth of the subconscious.
For years Barbara tried to do business the way she thought she should (eh, closet control freak!) and it was ‘hard’ work. In 2019 she surrendered her business to the Universe and it kept bringing her back to Human Design, which she had tried hard to ignore. Since she has embraced and aligned with her own Human Design (she is a Projector) life and business have transformed and now they are super fun. She is super excited to gift this wisdom to other women on their seeking journey of discovering who they truly are.

Mark & his wife Nicole starting experimenting with their diets making fermented goodies at home for their four boys, 2 of which are on the autism spectrum in an attempt to help with the gut-brain link. A supportive friend encouraged them to take the big leap into a commercial enterprise – their ferments were that good!
5 years later they are stocked in five countries across the world and have over 2,000 stockists. How did Mark do this? How did he take the big leap, how does he juggle entrepreneurship with his family and how the heck does he get the kids to have fermented food?
Mark also shares his story of how he got into business with Pete Evans to produce the HEAL range.
Mark’s story is inspirational and makes you feel like you could do it too – especially if you don’t see yourself a as ‘business’ person in the traditional sense – Mark says he is ‘allergic to spreadsheets’ – how refreshing to know you can take your passion and turn it into a successful business – even if you do make a few mistakes along the way.
